Kyson primary school record their war poems!

November 27th, 2012 · No Comments · For pupils, For teachers

The last few days have been really exciting here at Balestra Living History with a very nice surprise from a hard working year 6 class in Suffolk. They were kind enough to send me audio recordings of poems that they had written which were inspired by a poem that I wrote featured on my Blitz School website.
My original poem was called “Rescue 1940” and included the recurring line “The Air Raid sirens throb and hum”, which the pupils used as a basis for their own versions. The imagery they used is absolutely outstanding and the performances were also very special too. So many thanks to the brilliant 6R and Miss Ranson for all their hard work.
Anyhow, here’s recordings of the poems for you to judge yourself:
betty and rosy
tom s and oliver
tom m izzy charlie n and daniel
steph and charlie m
lucie and megan
lily lottie katie rachel tom w and charlie s
juliana and alex
grace
ella and sophia
cooper and joe g
if you would also like to send me some examples of your work please let me know and I will publish it here.

I hope you enjoy them and TTFN!

Mr B
